I am too old to read Russian news: they all are bad. What is worse -- the "good" news. Enough!
What about American news? Mixture. Obama's four farewell speeches to the world -- refreshing: manage your own affairs without America. I like it, very libertarian.
Economic news are not as bad as they could be. Looks like the Grand Depression will be in the global economy, not USA's.
American Isolationism is back.
Back to my African news... to the place where history sleeps.

Sorokin grows.
No fast enough to become a real writer (I tried to read
his recent play), but is alive.
What will be his another jump (if it will take pace) -- another genre?
Russian writers (RIP Aksenov) are to Soviet, no thought about non-Russian experience [do I know that Kafka was Austrian?] -- could be that Russian experience is too unique? Reading Solzhenitzyn -- about "them" (documentary), not about ME [great literature].
He is still young, maybe when he will be kicked out Russia, he writes about human beings, not only about Russian beings.

Maybe this title reflects the difference between Russia and the West.
Latynina lives in Moscow, I am not.
